Kevin is a lover of sports - almost any kind of sport. He has played golf since childhood, as one does in Scotland, and supports West Ham FC. And what he doesn't know about horse racing, football, cricket, athletics and other sports too numerous to mention is not worth knowing.

He has also found a great love for music and regularly discovers new, or even old, female jazz singers. The majority of his music collection consists of jazz. He also collects LPs, and his HiFi takes up a considerable amount of his time. When feeling particularly generous he is even willing to allow his wife to play her own LPs on his precious Rega 25 turntable. And occasionally help him restore his new/old Thorens TD 124/II.

Another of his more obvious character traits is that animals, and in particular dogs, flock to him. Negotiating the streets of Vienna with Kevin is a trial in getting anywhere as he is generally to be found snout-height chatting with the four-legged population, to the owners' amusement and occasional consternation when being held up by their pet's glee at the attention.

Finally, he has over the years developed an interest in wartime literature. The war poetry of WW1 is of particular interest, especially since he played Siegfried Sassoon in Not About Heroes at Mull Theatre, and he is presently researching Austrian and German war poetry.
